    Hi! New sub here! I need some Ficus help! I recently got this beautiful plant. We’ve had her for about 2 weeks. I have lost 2 leaves so far, they turn brown then black then shrivel up. When we got her she was very wet. I have let her dry out and was going to water her today and fertilize. I’ve allowed 2 inches of top soil to dry. Hopefully this helps. We do live in Arizona so I have been misting morning noon and night as I have reptiles so I have a mister. I have her near an east facing window. I have a porch so natural no light touches directly into this window. She had a bud while in store and that is now about 4 inches in diameter. What could be causing some Leave to turn black ish brown then shrivel up? I have noticed small spots on the lower leaves and I don’t want to loose them. Any help would greatly appreciated!

    Thank you. I just was given one of these plants and I’m still learning what to do to keep it alive. I’m sadly a known black thumb so when I accidentally rescued this one from near death the original owner gifted it to me. It’s grown three new leaves in the three weeks I’ve had it. It grew the first new one after the first watering I gave it. I don’t know how old it is. I know it’s a baby off one she’s had for a decade… it looks to be one third the age of its mother plant. I need to do more research to see how to get it to fruit and to see how long that should take with such a newer plant. Plus I need to figure out when I should transplant it because idk how long it’s been in this small medium pot 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣.

    How to properly prune this plant. Came home after 1 week of vacation and found lots of the leaves on the floor and some branches were dry and dead so I had to clean it up a bit and water it. 3 days back and it already looks better but I’ve had it for a month and I want to fertilize it in the hopes that it will look even peppier. That’s a nice guide for this plant. I never even heard of it until I discovered it at the store today. :) I live in southern California and wonder if it would be OK to leave it outdoors all year long. It might get to the 40s some nights in the winter. You also mentioned more or less indirect light. I have a west-facing balcony with the sun hitting it in the afternoon. Is that too much for it? It’s a light-colored version, so maybe it’s not as light-sensitive?

    • @HealthyHouseplants
      @HealthyHouseplants 25 дней назад

      @adventuresandreams, I'm glad you found the video helpful. You can grow Creeping Charlie outdoors in SoCal. The west-facing balcony can work--just keep an eye on the plant in the afternoons to ensure it isn't getting too much light--especially in the hot summer months. Indications that it is getting too much light would be drooping leaves despite wet soil and leaves become sunburned or washed out looking
